JYJ is known for its massive charitable donations, either in the form of money, mango trees or other items, especially to countries outside Korea, but one act that particularly stood out was done back in 2011, when member Kim Junsu helped build a school in Cambodia.
The ‘Xiah Junsu Evergreen Tree School’ was built for students who previously had to walk 5-10 km to get their education, and was erected as part of the Habitat for Humanity campaign. Junsu’s own mother visited the town prior to the construction, and returned for the opening ceremony, whereupon she named the school.
