On September 4, Kim Junsu put on his last performance of Elisabeth, held at the Seoul Arts Center. The singer-turned-musical actor put on a charismatic performance, taking control of the stage and capturing the attention of the audience throughout the entire performance.
With his perfect performance, the audience
was swept with emotion, sending applause to the young actor from the
completely filled auditorium of four levels. The applause carried on for
30 minutes.
A staff member stated, “It was an unbelievable sight. It seemed like the audience would applaud for the entire night. Because he received so much praise the first time around, it must have been more burdensome, but with his efforts and sincerity, he was able to capture the hearts of the audience.”
Director Sylvester Levay praised Kim Junsu, saying, “I was shocked to see Kim Junsu leading scene by scene. At times he was scary, at times he was dark. He pulled the performance away with charisma as he circled around Elisabeth like an animal. Kim Junsu’s performance was so perfect and I am very satisfied.”
“It’s time to part ways with the precious
‘Death.’ With all the sincere applauses and cheers, I felt so grateful
that made me feel so overwhelmed,” said Kim Junsu. “I’m learning more
and more about the dignity of the stage with my third musical and
understand how special everyone’s applause is. I will do my best to
become a better actor.”
With the musical, Kim Junsu also proved his popularity through
ticketing. All 30,000 seats for 14 rounds of performances were
completely sold out, even freezing up the ticketing sites.Meanwhile, Kim Junsu will be taking a break before heading off to Australia for his second solo album tour with a concert on September 29.
